Draped bust of Shapur III to right, wearing an elaborate crown; to left and right, ‘mzd[ysn] bgy – šhpwh[ly] MLKA’ = ‘mazdēsn bay Šābuhr šāh’ (‘The Mazda-worshipping Lord, King Shapur’ in Pahlavi). Rev. Fire altar with ribbons, flanked by two attendants; bust to right in flames; on the altar shaft, ‘ʾdwr(?)’ = ‘ādur(?)’ (‘Fire(?)’ in Pahlavi). Göbl type I/1. SNS III/2, type Ic/1b. Darkly toned. Some porosity, otherwise, very fine.
